MADISON, WI—Three white-tailed deer killed by hunters in an area surrounding Wisconsin's chronic wasting disease (CWD) zone have tested positive for the disease, state Department of Natural Resources (DNR) officials announced last week.
The DNR says the three deer were killed in the state's herd reduction zone, which is outside the state's CWD eradication zone where most of the deer infected with the disease have been killed.
